Thanksgiving Round-Up, 2013

I’m happy to share this collection of favorite Thanksgiving-y recipes from the past year of Bojon, because good food and drink help make family gatherings tolerable even more fun than usual!

Start things off right with crisp, boozy, and refreshing Apple of your Rye Cocktails. Mmm…

Get your carbs on with Honey Oat Beer Buns,

Flaky Goat Cheese Chive Biscuits made with Einkorn flour,

or moist and tender Gluten-Free Buttermilk Skillet Cornbread.

For a side dish (or main course for a vegetarian), serve up wedges of Cheesy Millet-Stuffed Butternut Squash with Shiitakes and Kale Pesto,

or Gluten-Free Cornbread Stuffing with Leeks, Chanterelles, and Chestnuts.

Lighten things up with Miso-Harissa Roasted Carrot and Two-Potato Salad. A Heidi Swanson inspiration, this stuff is insanely good.

When it comes to dessert, I’ve got your back with a tutorial on how to make the Flakiest All-Butter Pie Dough,

or a super flaky version that is shockingly gluten-free.

Impress your GF guests with Apple-Quince Tart with Gluten-Free Buckwheat Crust,

Gluten-Free Chai-Spiced Pear Skillet Cake,

Alice Medrich’s Chocolate Almond Olive Oil Cake sprinkled with flaky salt,

Raw, Vegan Chocolate Cheesecakes,

Or Kinda Raw Marbled Pumpkin Tart.

Indulge in Persimmon Cranberry Crisp,

or Gingery Cranberry Apple Crumble Pie.

Top them all off with Dreamy Vanilla or Crème Fraîche Ice Cream

or skip the pie altogether in favor of Bourbon Apple Crisp Ice Cream.

  2. I've been looking at several round-ups, and yours wins…hands-down! I wish I could attend your holiday feast! We're keeping things simple this year (letting mom do most of the cooking….we're just bringing pie). I should pass some of these recipe ideas her way! Thank you for sharing!

  3. Holy moly! I am completely and utterly blown away by the number of options you have here to choose from!!! And everything looks INCREDIBLE to boot! Thanksgiving's long passed for those of us up in Toronto, but I can't wait to try some of these recipes nonetheless. Especially that stuffed squash!
