    3-Minute Homemade Honey Butter

    Creamy, salty, tangy, and sweet. This balanced honey butter takes 3 ingredients and 3 minutes to make with just a bowl and a spoon. It's silky-smooth and so dreamy!

    "Too much butter" said no one ever. This addictive honey butter is the sweet counterpart to flavored butters such as creamy homemade basil butter. If you love the floral, bright flavor of honey (like in this honey cream cheese frosting) you're going to adore this easy honey butter recipe!

    This recipe is the ideal accompaniment to any hot, buttery baked good. I especially love it melting over flaky gluten-free buttermilk biscuits and spread on slices of super-moist gluten-free cornbread. Bonus that it's incredibly easy to make – maybe a little *too* easy if I'm being honest...

    INGREDIENTS: honey, butter, and salt. That's it!

    Ingredients

    This recipe uses just 3 ingredients which create something greater than the sum of its parts. See the recipe card below for the full quantities and instructions!

    • Butter forms the base of the recipe, so be sure to use butter that's fresh, with a clean flavor. My go-to brands are Straus and Vermont Creamery. For dairy-free, use plant butter and decrease the salt.
    • Honey adds sweetness as well as acidity. I used a light-colored wildflower honey here, but feel free to try other flavorful honeys of your choice!
    • Salt sharpens the flavors. I found 1/4 teaspoon to be just the right amount, but feel free to dial this up or down to your taste.

    How to make it

    This recipe comes together in minutes with a bowl and a spoon. It makes about 3/4 cup of honey butter.

    Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature.

    Stir to combine.

    Swirl it in a bowl to serve, or store it in a jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

    How to enjoy it

    This honey butter is so balanced and delicious, you'll want to eat it on everything. Here are some of my favorite pairings:

    • Drizzle it over popcorn for kettle corn vibes
    • Spread it on toast or rice cakes for a quick snack
    • Serve it with gluten-free almond flour scones for a teatime treat
    • Melt it over gluten-free pancakes, lacy almond flour crepes, or corn flour waffles for breakfast
    • Swirl it over these moist, tender almond flour banana muffins.

    However you enjoy this honey butter, I hope it becomes a staple in your kitchen like it has in mine!

    3-Minute Homemade Honey Butter

    Ingredients

    • 8 tablespoons (113 g) unsalted butter, at soft room temperature
    • ¼ cup (84 g) runny honey
    • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
    Prevent your screen from going dark

    Instructions

    • Place the softened butter in a medium-sized bowl and stir until smooth.
    • Stir in the honey and salt.
    • For whipped honey butter, beat vigorously for 1-2 minutes until fluffy.
    • Transfer to a jar and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for longer storage.

    Notes

    Variations:
    • For dairy-free honey butter, use a dairy-free butter that you like the taste of, and add the salt to taste if the vegan butter is salty. 
    • For cinnamon, cardamom, or pumpkin spice honey butter, stir in 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon of spice, to your taste.

These buckwheat pancakes are everything I want on a slow morning: tender, floofy, and full of deep, toasty flavor from dark buckwheat flour (I love using @arrowheadmills which is certified #glutenfree).

They're easy to whip up with a few pantry staples:
🌾 dark buckwheat flour
🍚 sweet rice flour
🥄 baking powder & baking soda
🧂 salt
🥚 egg
🥛 Greek yogurt + milk (or plant milk)
🍁 maple syrup
🧈 butter

    I just scored a bunch of rhubarb from my mother-in I just scored a bunch of rhubarb from my mother-in-law's garden, so I knew it was time to share this gluten-free strawberry rhubarb crisp!

The sturdy crumble topping uses a unique mixing method: a beaten egg gets rubbed with the dry ingredients, sprinkled over the fruit, and drizzled with a stick of melted butter. Made gluten-free with sweet rice and oat flours, the texture ends up similar to a crisp-chewy oatmeal cookie.

The crunchy topping soaks up the juices from crimson strawberry rhubarb compote and the whole thing tastes like spring in a bowl. Sweet-tart deliciousness.
